SLS Loudspeakers LS8695 Line Array Speaker Systems for Church PA system
SLS Loudspeakers recently announced that Hillcrest Church of Christ, located east of Atlanta, has selected two LS8695 Line Array Speaker Systems for its sanctuary. Greg White, owner of WAVES, an acoustics and audio and video engineering services company completed the installation in the gymnasium-size room.
"Putting together the sound system wasn't really a challenge considering the acoustics of this type of space," said White. "I chose the LS8695 for its precise throw of sound. SLS assisted us with the placement and angle and it was perfect for this room. The overall system gain I'm getting before feedback occurs is overwhelming. The sound of the SLS speakers is so natural and smooth; it's like someone talking in your ear."
White, who has also completed installs for St. Paul United Methodist Church and Sugar Hill United Methodist Church, was able to save the church money and provide a better listening area by selecting the SLS speakers. In addition to the installation of the new speakers, White also applied 2-inch thick acoustic treatment panels to a large portion of the back wall.
"Hillcrest Church of Christ is housed in a non-audio friendly room, but is an ideal venue to utilize our line array technology," comments R Bob Adams, director of technical communication for SLS. "Greg not only has a good grasp of the system design and installation process, but is keenly aware of how the product fits in the church marketplace and what makes ribbon technology so beneficial in modern day systems."
Hillcrest Church of Christ, originally named Kirkwood Church of Christ, will be celebrating its 60th anniversary at the turn of the New Year. In addition to Sunday worship services for its 800-person congregation, Hillcrest is also home to daily Bible study classes during the week.
