PA Systems Guide: how much Power/Watt is enough

There are different PA options for the same situation. If you are an experienced live sound engineer you probably know what type of PA system is required for a certain situation. But if you are not is a good idea to have some general idea about what type of PA system power you need to set up a system. A 3000 watt tri-amplified active setup is probably a little much for a small bar. And a 200 watt passive PA system will probably not be enough for a large festival. Let’s take a look at how much is needed in different situations.
