DMX Productions adds Allen & Heath’s Xone:S2 installation/DJ mixerBirmingham-based hire and installation company, DMX Productions, has purchased Allen & Heath’s new Xone:S2 installation/DJ mixer to add to its event production hire stock.Established 3 years ago, DMX Productions specialises in nightclub system upgrades and installations, event management, and has recently expanded its portfolio to include a recording studio. Recent clients have included Fashion TV, CBSO (City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra), DJ’s such as Pete Tong, Eddie Halliwell, Andy Farley, Kenny Dope, and Lisa Lashes, and artists including Peyton, Audio Bullys, Laura Sax, and Delesh. DMX’s hire stock comprises the core brands Allen & Heath, EV, Klark Technik, Midas, Avolites, Robe, JBL and Pioneer. The company has several Allen & Heath products in its hire stock, including 8 Xone:62 mixers, a Xone 92, and a MixWizard. They are so impressed by the new Xone:S2 mobile/club mixer, they are planning to purchased more in due course. “The main reason we went for the Xone:S2 is the installer options, the ability to level match and limit individual channels, the fact the DJ can tell when he is over-driving the system, and the confidence and security that this gives us makes it a fantastic product for installations and touring use. Furthermore, having had numerous top DJ’s play on the S2, we can confidently say no one has had a bad word to say about the mixer,” explains MD, SJ Grevett. The Xone;S2 is a 19” rack-mounted 4U mixer, available with either linear or rotary VCA channel faders, and features 4 stereo dual-input channels, 2 mono mic/stereo line channels, a USB audio interface, and boasts many features to both enhance the DJ’s performance and aid the installer. The mixer debuted at Birmingham’s Q Club on New Year’s Eve. Ibiza legends, Pacha, hosted the main room, with Pete Tong headlining supported by Seb Fontaine, Martyn Ten Velden, Angel Linde and Sonny Wharton. “The Xone;S2 received glowing reviews and the room sounded fantastic,” describes Grevett. “Seb Fontaine, who played the midnight set, was able to simply monitor the limiter on the mixer, adjust the gain, and keep the volume below the threshold, ensuring everyone was hearing a crystal clear, fantastic sound throughout the venue.” “The biggest difference between an Allen & Heath mixer and that of a rival company is the sound.
