Crest introduces LQ powered series Speaker enclosures
Crest Audio is exhibiting the new LQ Powered Series of injection-molded bi-amplified speaker enclosures. Designed for a wide variety of mobile and fixed sound reinforcement applications, the LQ Powered Series combine bi-amplified speaker systems of high power handling capability with the ability to maintain clarity, even at extreme power levels. Three models comprise the LQ Powered Series - the LQ-10P, LQ-12P and LQ-15P. All LQ Powered enclosures are made from high impact injection-molded polypropylene in a trapezoidal shape for easy stacking or cluster formation, and feature extensive ribbing and bracing. The grille utilizes perforated metal protected by a high quality coating.
The flagship of the series is the Crest LQ-15P two-way bi-amplified system that features a 15" cast frame woofer with 4" voice coil, water-resistant treated cone and a dust cap for superior environmental stability. These drivers are then coupled with separate internal matched, low noise (more than 90 dB below rated power) amplifiers - 400 Watts (800 Watts, peak) and 100 Watts (200 Watts, peak), respectively. Designed for primary sound reinforcement, the LQ-15P has a dispersion pattern of 90 degrees horizontal x 45 degrees vertical. The LQ-15P is capable of delivering 500 Watts total of continuous program material (125 dB SPL) with 1000 Watts total peak (130 dB SPL @ 1M).
High frequencies are handled by a 2" titanium diaphragm compression driver coupled to a 1" Quadratic Throat Horn which is molded to the cabinet. The frequency response of the LQ-15P is 54 Hz to 18 kHz +/-3 dB. An internal electronic two-way crossover (1600 Hz) features a sophisticated CD horn EQ, level matching, active bass boost, and subsonic filtering. A spatially aligned horn and woofer eliminate the need for phase alignment or time delay of input signals. In addition, the crossover provides driver roll-off and protection, as well as EQ for the woofer and horn, and an on-board Contour Switch can be engaged to reduce midrange by ~4 dB, from 300 Hz to 2 kHz. Extremely powerful and efficient for an enclosure its size, the LQ-15 is a trapezoidal design that measures 28.6" x 21.3" x 17.2" (front) and 26.8" x 11.5" x 17.2" (rear) and weighs 69 lbs. The LQ-15 comes standard with one combo female XLR / 1/4" phone jack, one male XLR mic level input (ON/OFF switchable), and a 1/4" phone jack based loop-thru, allowing an additional LQ-15P to be linked to the first for signal source and volume control. The LQ-15P comes standard with four mounting inserts top and four bottom plus one built-in stand mount.

The LQ-12P's drivers are then coupled with separate internal matched, low noise (more than 90 dB below rated power) amplifiers 400 Watts (800 Watts, peak) and 100 Watts (200 Watts, peak), respectively. Like the top-of-the-line LQ-15P, the new LQ-12P is also designed for primary sound reinforcement with a dispersion pattern of 90 degrees horizontal x 45 degrees vertical. The LQ-12P is capable of delivering 500 Watts total of continuous program material (125 dB SPL) with 1000 Watts total peak (130 dB SPL @ 1M).

The LQ-12P also comes standard with one combo female XLR / 1/4" phone jack, one male XLR mic level input (ON/OFF switchable), and a 1/4" phone jack based loop-thru, allowing an additional LQ-12P to be linked to the first for signal source and volume control. For easy mounting, the LQ-12P has four mounting inserts top and four bottom and a built-in stand mount.
The LQ-10P is a trapezoidal bi-amplified two-way enclosure comprised of a 10" heavy-duty long throw woofer with a water-resistant treated cone and dust cap and a 1.4" titanium diaphragm compression driver coupled to a 1" Quadratic Throat Horn, that is molded to the cabinet. The LQ-10P's drivers are coupled with separate internal matched, low noise (more than 90 dB below rated power) amplifiers 150 Watts (200 Watts, peak) and 50 Watts (70 Watts, peak), respectively. The LQ-10P has a dispersion pattern of 90 degrees horizontal x 45 degrees vertical. The LQ-10P is capable of delivering 200 Watts total of continuous program material (125 dB SPL) with 270 Watts total peak (130 dB SPL @ 1M). The frequency response of the LQ-10P is 80 Hz to 20 kHz +/-3 dB. An internal passive crossover with the same features and specs as the LQ-15P and LQ-12P is provided. Compact and portable, the LQ-10P measures 18.9" x 14" x 13.125" (front) and 17.7" x 8" x 13.125" (rear) and weighs 36 lbs. The LQ-10P comes standard with one combo female XLR / 1/4" phone jack and a 1/4" phone jack based loop-thru, allowing an additional LQ-10P to be linked to the first for signal source and volume control. Stand mount and top and bottom flying point inserts are
also included.
